Interview about the project “FIRELY”
Besides study programmes in fashion, computer science and business administration, the Ling Tung University, founded in 1964, also teaches design and promotes young creative talents. Yu-Jing Weng, Ru-Yun Li, Xin-Ting Ke, She-Fan Yen and Wei-Jing Xie study here together and, with an excellent project about tiny creatures, draw attention to a special creation of nature.

FIREFLY
The fascination with fireflies was the focus of this work. Using detailed illustrations, as well as fluorescent print, the students use the senses of sight and touch to draw attention to the beauty of these insects.

Inspired by the glowing flight paths of the 52 firefly species in Taiwan, the project team of students from Ling Tung University used luminescent materials and line structures as carriers, to link picturised information.
