Red Dot: Which detail was particularly important to you when designing the fan heater?

For me, the most important detail is the moment when the product “comes to life”. This small motion – the activation of the lifting mechanism – actually carries a lot of meaning: it reflects our dedication to combining user experience, mechanical precision and safety, for the lifting mechanism not only solves the common issue of dust and debris entering the unit but also introduces a sense of ceremony and creates a subtle emotional connection.

What challenges did the integration of the lifting mechanism pose?

The development of the lifting mechanism presented several technical challenges. To ensure a smooth and stable movement, it was critical to achieve precise synchronisation of the gear strokes at both ends of the mechanism. Even small deviations can lead to jamming or irregular movement. At the same time, the system had to have enough power to support its own weight as well as potential additional loads. A further key consideration was safety. To exclude any possible external hazards, we built in an automatic reversal function that immediately stops and retracts the mechanism if there is any resistance.

How important was an appealing design language to you when designing the fan heater?

We deliberately employed a minimalist, clearly structured design to ensure the product integrates seamlessly into modern living spaces. This reduced, geometric design language also conveys a sense of professionalism, premium quality and technical reliability.
