Red Dot Design Museum opens in Xiamen

Successful museum opening

The Red Dot Design Museum in Xiamen is the third museum to present award-winning design alongside the main location in Essen and the museum in Singapore. After relocating within the Chinese port city, the museum opened its doors on 28 November and is now open to visitors.

Professor Dr Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot, welcomed the guests to the opening at the new location. They were also invited to a subsequent tour of the new museum.

Outstanding design meets modern architecture

The latest Red Dot Design Museum is located in the Xinglinwan Business Operation Centre. At 262 metres, the building is the second tallest in the port city of Xiamen. The impressive building has 54 floors. Three of them are now occupied by Red Dot. Among other things, they present the special exhibition “The Power of Design” on almost 1,500 square metres. The exhibition provides an insight into international, award-winning product design and conveys basic knowledge as well as information on topics such as trends and innovations.
