Young Professionals Application Day

Red Dot winner 2022: Porzelina’s sensual collection

Designer Alina Eynck won over the Red Dot Jury in 2022 with her shiny white sex toys. The “Porzelina’s sensual collection” series is made of porcelain and comes in organic yet elegant shapes. The jurors of the Red Dot Award: Product Design were surprised by the unusual choice of material, which the designer herself justifies with durability, hygiene and easy temperature regulation.

Alina Eynck, founder of the company Majursa, which produces the Porzelina collection, supported her step into the public eye by participating in the Red Dot Design Award. Like many other young entrepreneurs, she took the opportunity of the Young Professionals Application Day to do so. On this day, designers who graduated no more than five years ago have the opportunity to take part in a draw for 50 free registration places for the Red Dot Award: Product Design. The products of the drawn talents will be evaluated by the Red Dot Jury together with those of all participants. If they receive an award, the young talents will have access to the extensive measures for winners free of charge.

Red Dot spoke to Alina Eynck about her company, the Porzelina collection and her participation in the Red Dot Design Award

Red Dot: How do you describe your company yourself?
Alina Eynck:
My company deals with the implementation of ergonomic sex toys made of porcelain. The Sensual Collection is the flagship of the Porzelina brand, so to speak. A lot of heart and soul and development work went into the design and I am very proud that it is so well received.

What makes your product unique?
The set is in itself unique on the market. The individual products are also distinctive, and not just because of the design. In addition to the ergonomic orientation for the respective erogenous focus, each product has a few special features: The precise dildo Gia with the strong curvature and the special grip, the versatile dildo Zel with the special tip, Plug Avo with the two different sides, love ball Lai with the grip recesses. So the most diverse preferences will find the right response. This also includes the Temperature Play, whereby the products can be quickly brought to the desired temperature. In addition, the glazed surface is particularly slippery and, unlike many plastic toys, does not emit any harmful substances, which is an important point for the health of the user. In addition, we produce in small factories in Bavaria, which brings not only an aspect of fairness but also one of sustainability.

What motivated you to take part in the Red Dot Design Award?
The product development and user tests were freshly completed. The step into the public eye was imminent and the opportunity to apply for the Red Dot Design Award came at just the right time. I was about to start up, still without capital, so participation was only made possible by the funding [of the Young Professional Applications Day, editor’s note].

To what extent has participation in the Red Dot Design Award supported you as a young entrepreneur/young designer?
From a practical point of view, the award creates confidence above all. In all kinds of business areas the award is a strong argument and for press appointments the award is also very interesting. But it not only offers opportunities for corporate marketing, but also for personal marketing. To receive this award at the very beginning of a career is something very special and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to participate through the Young Professionals Application Day and to get a place next to the very big brands.
