Lara Wilkin in an interview with Red Dot

Red Dot: When and how did you discover your enthusiasm for communication design?
Lara Wilkin: My enthusiasm for design started at an early age. When I was still a child, I was fascinated by the way in which so many complex subjects could be captured visually and therefore prompt people to dream about, discover and elucidate things and even to change their mind!

What aims do you have for your future career?
I want to keep on using my concepts and visualisations to shed light on scientific and socially important subjects.

What makes for a perfect day?
My working day is perfect when I am challenged mentally and by my creative work – and if I can, perhaps, learn something new.

Lara Wilkin was awarded a Red Dot: Best of the Best at the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2021 for her work “#LazarusEffect”. The multimedia educational campaign deals with the unintentional rediscovery of a life form that was previously lost or thought to be extinct.
