ETCH Clock

ETCH Clock is a minimalist clock consisting of a frame and an elastic membrane. It uses an innovative technology to display the time. Its special feature is that the time appears in the form of digital numbers apparently engraved into the membrane – only to disappear again shortly afterwards, leaving behind a smooth surface. The clock literally seems to breathe, giving the passing of time a physical touch.

Statement by the Jury

With its pulsing display, the ETCH Clock suggests that time is something dynamic, almost lively. It thus makes the passing of time perceptible in a new way.
