Hearo

Back Download

Deaf individuals often experience anxiety when removing their hearing aids before going to bed, afraid that they will miss important sounds. This negatively affects their sleep quality, and deaf individuals are up to seven times more likely to suffer from sleep disorders than the general population. Hearo was created for people with hearing impairments to alleviate their sleep anxiety and improve their sleep quality. Hearo consists of a hub and a ring. The hub, which resembles an ear, serves as both a charging station for the ring and a sound detection device. Through the app, users can choose which sounds they wish to be alerted to. When the hub's AI identifies the sound in the alert list, it triggers a vibration in the ring to notify the user. Users can also monitor their health via the app's personalised settings. Hearo uses biometric data such as photoplethysmography (PPG) and heart rate sensors to track the user's sleep patterns and analyse their health. Designed for sleep comfort, Hearo is made using a low heat conductivity plastic rather than metal, making it significantly lighter and more comfortable during the night.
