Kia EV6

Avant-gardist

The EV6 is Kia’s first dedicated electric vehicle (BEV) and already has many of the features that are set to define the brand’s strategic realignment as a provider of sustainable mobility. Amongst other things, it thus represents the new visual identity of the vehicles that is determined by the design philosophy of “Opposites United”. This is not least reflected in the richly contrasting combination of sharply defined stylistic elements and sculptural shapes. The EV6 is based on the newly developed Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which results in a large cabin space and means that the EV6 offers plenty of leg room and storage space, also due to the level floor. The interior design blends space, comfort and sustainable materials with a high-tech look influenced by the striking horizontally domed display. This forges an emotional connection between the users and the technology that surrounds them. The distinctive exterior design combines short overhangs and an extended wheelbase with muscular proportions and reflects the typology of the EV6 as a crossover. In combination with a very slim side profile, a particularly low front end and a forward-facing architecture with a high rear spoiler featuring integrated rear lights, this gives the EV6 its high recognition factor. The front is characterised by an elegant, contemporary daytime running light that brings the brand’s typical “tiger face” into the electric era.

Statement by the Jury

The EV6 combines a spacious interior, good handling properties and high general utility with a dynamic, emotionally appealing crossover design that is both futuristic and familiar. Based on the new Electric-Global Modular Platform, it thus convincingly embodies the brand’s paradigm shift and impressively conveys that electric mobility is exciting and fun.
