By reducing the vibrations during pricking, the size of the puncture wound is minimised, which in turn causes less pain. A safety mechanism prevents the spring from being cocked while it is open. In turn, when the spring is cocked, the lancing device remains sealed. The used lancet can be ejected by pushing the plunger, using only one hand.
