Nuna is a brand of the Taiwanese company Wonderland Nurserygoods. Since its launch in 2007, Nuna has been positioned as a design brand for baby and toddler products to attract attention in the highly competitive baby products market. The first product ever to be launched under the Nuna brand name was the ZAAZ high chair, which was designed in Amsterdam. Its development was triggered by the question of what suitable seating for babies and toddlers at a family table could look like. The result was a high chair of comparatively simple design which, thanks to featuring a pneumatic system, was easy to adjust in height and, thanks to its compact dimensions, could be pushed right up to the table. It is products like this that fill the brand’s mission statement of “Designed around your life” with energy and credibility. Nuna has repeatedly proven its consistent design standing in various competitions, including the Red Dot Award in which numerous Nuna products have already been assessed and awarded. These design prizes are also used aggressively in communications, for example in the form of advertisements or billboard campaigns to further underline the design claim. Over the years, Nuna has thus managed to establish itself as a premium baby gear brand on a global level. Today, the brand with its organically soft lettering is an epitome of simple, functionally sophisticated and above all well-designed high-quality products. Social media also plays a key role in increasing brand awareness, especially through influencers with whom Nuna works at a regional level in order to achieve particularly credible communication of product features. Since baby gear is still a product range that customers want to see, touch and try in a store before buying, Nuna places high importance on achieving a strong presence at the POS – with lovingly crafted shop-in-shop systems and individual products. The company’s visual communication is dominated by an imagery that visualises the products in use, complemented by a distinctive typography and pastel-coloured surfaces. The resulting overall appearance projects the Nuna brand as innovative, modern, functional and likeable.
