Signal in a Bottle
Putting a message in a bottle is a very old method of calling for help. The point of this project is that the message comes from the sea itself. Each of the three cylindrical “bottle books” reveals a current threat to the marine environment: oil pollution, rising temperatures and plastic waste. Like a scroll, the paper attached to the cylinder can be unrolled and read from both sides, while the colour scheme reflects the issue in question. In contrast to the detailed illustrations, the cover design attracts attention by means of reduction, focusing on a single meaningful number per object.
