“Enduring, not ultimate form”: from “Industrieform” to Red Dot (1980 - 1997)
stool
Made of three wooden panels that can be easily mounted by the user, its operation is self-explanatory, from mounting to use. Other than the three oak or beech boards that are glued together to form the stool, no other materials are required. It can be used as a stool, side table, or bedside table, depending on the user’s preference. Despite its robust appearance, it is easily dismounted, moved, and relocated.
The stool went through a multi-stage design, prototyping, and jury process with a team of craftsmen, architects, communication specialists, and product designers. It engages the user with the material warmth of the local oak and beech wood, as well as the simplicity of the joint components, all brought together by the skilled use of craftsmanship.
