The Origin of Wuliangye

The Origin of Wuliangye is a brand of traditional Chinese spirits distilled from fermented grains. Its elegant bottle shape resembles a polished diamond to highlight its purity and transparency. An environmentally friendly material made from distillery waste is used for the custom-fit, injection-moulded outer packaging. The surface is characterised by an irregular texture resembling the soil of the grain-fermentation cellars in which the spirit is made, offering a look and feel that links the packaging to the product.

The packaging for The Origin of Wuliangye creates a contrast between the crystal-clear bottle and the soil-like texture of the outer packaging, while referencing the distillation process.
