The Willow Hotel is a boutique hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. It aims to fit in the middle ground between traditional hospitality and crowd-sourced vacation. To reflect this claim, the branding draws on country-western style and combines it with modern elements. The type system is a modern take on country woodcut typography. Illustrations and patterns celebrate the local quirks of the city’s culture, while humorous texts enhance brand recognition. As a result, the visual identity is flexible with the ability to focus on either illustration, colours, type or photography.
