Through billboards and various promotional items, this project aims to draw attention to Keelung, a major port city in the northeastern part of Taiwan. As litter has become a major problem on Keelung’s beaches, the branding takes the opportunity to make a plea for marine conservation. The colour scheme is marked by catchy neon colours on a black-and-white background. While black is partly used to refer to oil spills in the harbour, white hints at plastic particles in the ocean. Simplified figures fill the brand’s message with life and emotions. The overall appearance is rounded off by graphics inspired by gridlines on nautical charts.
