Wuhan Insun International Cineplex

The interior design of this cinema has been modelled on traditional editing of roll film as a recurring theme. In an illustrated form, this defines the auditorium by integrating different materials and decorations. In the lobby, light boxes made of four different types of metal mesh are hung from the ceiling, creating a rich interplay between light and shadow. The illumination concept adopts a nostalgic style for adjusting between dimmer and warmer lighting, while the orange colour of the metal-mesh light boxes represents the passage of time. Rectangular sound-absorbing panels in different colours on the walls aim to imitate the light boxes.
