Studio F. A. Porsche – Red Dot: Design Team of the Year 2021
The products from Studio F. A. Porsche are well thought-out, functional and durable. As the in-house design team for the Porsche Design brand, the designers are popular for their premium products such as watches, sunglasses, luggage and leather goods. But the company also collaborates with international clients such as Acer, Morita or Panasonic to produce top-class consumer goods, household appliances and industrial products. In the past five years alone, the team working under Managing Director Roland Heiler won the Red Dot: Best of the Best, which is the top distinction in the Red Dot Award: Product Design, no fewer than eight times. Studio F. A. Porsche received the honorary title “Red Dot: Design Team of the Year 2021” as a result.
The title “Red Dot: Design Team of the Year” was first awarded back in 1988. Traditionally, the honouring takes place during the Red Dot Gala in Essen in front of roughly 1,200 international guests. The winning team from the previous year hands over the Radius trophy, made from pewter and weighing 11 kg, to the new winner. This year, Roland Heiler, Managing Director of Studio F. A. Porsche, accepted the challenge cup in person from Red Dot CEO Peter Zec. This marks the design team’s official induction into the Hall of Fame for international design:
