The China Academy of Art (CAA), founded in 1928, is considered one of Asia’s leading art academies. Here, Chinese art research and academic disciplines including traditional fine arts and calligraphy are combined with contemporary subject areas such as design, film and media. Artistic traditions are integrated with innovative research. The academy has always placed particular emphasis on the dialogue between art, society and technology. The CAA thus provides a creative environment in which art is understood as the living connection between cultural heritage and innovative design.
