Red Dot: Beyond the engine, how is the BRABUS DNA reflected in the design of the BIG BOY 1200?

The most important thing is that when we talk about best-in-class performance, we mean far more than just a powerful drive. Performance is a mindset. A world of experience. It’s about how a product behaves and how it reacts to its environment. It’s about the ability to seamlessly combine performance, elegance, style and design in a way that activates the senses and leaves an extraordinary, unforgettable impression. In this case, it was clear from the outset that it was to be a BRABUS motorhome in every respect. This meant that the idea of performance had to go far beyond the engine compartment – it had to characterise the entire experience down to the smallest detail.

The exterior is dominated by black carbon, the interior by shades of grey, Alcantara and striking contrasts – how important is the dialogue between the exterior and interior in a BRABUS vehicle?

The dialogue between the exterior and interior is absolutely essential – they must function as a cohesive design statement in order to convey the so-called 1-second wow effect. In the BIG BOY 1200, the all-black exterior with visible carbon fibre sets the tone: powerful, self-confident. The interior picks up on the same language and translates it into a haptic experience that is made even more intense by precisely quilted grey leather, Alcantara and sharp visual contrasts. This continuity makes the vehicle instantly recognisable as a BRABUS masterpiece – the brand identity is absolutely clear.

What characterises the BRABUS design identity?

Our identity is defined above all by an unmistakable signature and the pillars of our brand essence – black-and-bold design, self-confident performance, individuality, uncompromising functionality, technical superlatives and, of course, attention to detail.
