Red Dot: How do you manage to combine the visual restraint of an architecturally integrated lighting system with the clear signalling function of an information interface?

To what extent was the emotional effect of light – for example in emergencies – a deliberate design element in your creative approach?

The integration of LynX technology into our elegant SLOTLIGHT lighting system makes it possible, for example, to use light signals to alert healthcare professionals to emergencies or special situations without disturbing visitors or other patients, as would be the case with an acoustic signal. With fewer bystanders alerted, the stress level for healthcare staff is reduced and they can concentrate fully on the situation at hand.

For a long time, light was purely a means of illumination - today it is becoming an information carrier, an orientation system and a design element. How does this expanded role of light change your approach to the design of linear lighting systems?

SLOTLIGHT is the perfect infrastructure for exactly this task, with a sleek design and high-quality finish, such as a seamless diffuser that extends up to 100 metres in a line, as well as maximum flexibility even after installation. Installing SLOTLIGHT with standard strips or with LynX strips makes no physical difference, which means that already installed SLOTLIGHT systems can also be upgraded and improved with LynX.
