Stereoscreen in an Interview with Red Dot

Red Dot: How would you define good communication design?
Tim Hahne: Speaking of advertising films, first of all they have to be honest and authentic. Otherwise, they don’t connect with the viewers. At the same time, the style should be nonorthodox and original to stand out from the crowd.

What makes your daily work as a creative so special?
It’s very special, because you can turn any idea into something real, into an experience. And into a film. You find yourself in Ipanema with a Super 8 camera, just because you always wanted to find out why the Brazilian beach culture is so unique. Or you follow the leg-amputee racing driver Alex Zanardi and experience the challenge of a 24-hour race – just because it’s the story that you always wanted to bring to life. Everything is possible!

What does it take to be successful as a communication designer?
Follow your path. Be bold. Fight for your ideas. And bring them to life.
