Corner Pubs as Cultural Heritage
After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dramatic changes that the city has experienced ever since, many local corner pubs have closed down, making way for fashionable bars and clubs. The local beer brand Schultheiss is also under threat. With the slogan “Long live the corner pub”, this advertising campaign positions corner pubs as historic monuments and as part of Berlin’s local cultural heritage. Outdoor campaigns, promotions, events such as the “Night of the Corner Pub”, public relations, as well as digital and social media all aim to put the corner pub back in the spotlight.
