Waipu is a rural district northwest of Taichung City which is rather unknown to tourists. Pitaya, commonly known as dragon fruit, stands out from all of the crops produced in the area. In order to promote a new local museum, this work makes the dragon fruit the symbol of Waipu. The attractive shape of the pitaya characterises the brand and makes it recognisable. Implemented in aesthetic paper cutouts and 3D pop-up elements, the figurative mark appeals to the viewers’ curiosity and their joy of discovery. A flashy colour palette, offset with white, ensures the brand gets enough attention, from the ticket to the website.
