Over the course of their life, everybody has to say goodbye. Sometimes this is associated with a difficult decision. The animated short film “When is the best time to say goodbye?” sensitively illustrates the conflict between patients and family members when the question arises if life-support should be continued or not. The film depicts a woman who needs artificial ventilation to stay alive and is torn between life and death because of the love for her family. The story requires no words and is supported only by metaphorical imagery and an emotional soundtrack.
