Red Dot: What was the idea or concept behind the GSE215-T system?
The basic intention was to close the gap between function and aesthetic appeal in high-rise buildings by developing “invisible” doors and windows. Also, when residential buildings are located in mountainous or coastal regions, a panoramic view is a key highlight. The strong wind pressure affecting high-rise buildings makes it impossible to use conventional doors in such a large format. Also, conventional sliding door profiles are wider, and the dimensions can’t be too large. We aim to fill the gap with GSE215-T.
This system allows the indoor space to merge with the outdoor scenery. Was that your intention?
Absolutely. The system is designed to remove physical barriers between indoor and outdoor areas and thus to create a seamless panoramic effect. As already mentioned, the conventional wide frames of sliding doors are not able to expand architectural space in this way. Appropriate interface resolution and fluid transitions are the answer to our idea of architecture. Our large frame panel is not only aesthetically pleasing; it also offers protection from wind and rain, allows plenty of natural light to enter the interior space and is energy efficient. In other words, it meets all contemporary needs for living comfort.
Can you tell us more about the components?
The motor, hardware, accessories and other components of the GSE215-T system are all proprietary GRUUS products. The principle of the magnetic levitation double-track, the high-precision profiles, the high-strength sealing strips and the special window glass represent leading-edge technology in our industry, as do the smart operating and safety systems.
